It was only two months ago that Naughty Dog set a PC date for The Last of Us Part I. Now, however, the developer reports that the game will still not make it to the planned launch date.

The Last of Us Part I is slightly delayed on PC.

Instead of March 3, the PC version will now be released on March 28. Via Twitter the team explains that the extra 25 days were necessary to ensure that the game lives up to fans’ expectations.

– We want to be sure that The Last of Us Part I’s PC debut is as good as it can be. These extra weeks allow us to ensure that this version of The Last of Us lives up to their, and our, standards. We’re very excited to bring The Last of Us Part I to a new platform, to reach players new and old with Joel and Ellie’s unforgettable story of survival, and we hope you’ll continue to look forward to the PC launch on March 28.

The game thus comes to PC after the TV series based on The Last of Us is finished. The final episode premieres on March 12. The HBO series has received an overwhelmingly positive reception, and has set a number of viewing records.

Our own Espen Jansen enjoyed himself through the nine episodes, and rolled an eight on the dice in his review of the series. HBO has already ordered a new season, which will deal with the events of The Last of Us Part II.
