The question was never really about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would be a success with both critics and gamers, regardless of how big the success is. We’re far from the only ones who think the game is a masterpiece, and now we also know that it sold someone quite macabrely well.

Nintendo announces that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sold over ten million in its first three days on the market. That makes it the fastest-selling The Legend of Zelda game ever and means it’s doing just as well as the record-breaking Pokémon Scarlet/Violet.

The latter is particularly interesting, as Link and Zelda’s adventures are usually not the blockbusters one might think. However, Tears of the Kingdom follows in the hilariously impressive footsteps of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and given the technical issues that last year’s Pokemon games had – and to some extent still have – there’s a chance that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may surpass even this quite soon.

Incidentally, as we were able to report recently, planning for the next Zelda game is already in full swing.
