Luis Pérez Egaña Loli, ´the lord of the Cactus´, winner of the national award in Environmental Psychology 2022 from the College of Psychologists of Peru, presented his second book ‘Gardening for everyone’, in which he shares guidelines for cultivating in houses or apartments, pointing out where to locate the plants, how to maintain them, when to water them and achieve have healthy growth.
for 15 years Perez Egana He spends his spare time cultivating cacti and succulents, and has always been a member of the Peruvian Society of Cactus and Succulents. On the book he considered that ‘Gardening for all’ it also seeks to cultivate values such as ‘affection, love, loyalty, friendship’
The author has an important collection of cacti that is made up of specimens of all shapes and colors, the same that can be seen in his house in Miraflores. His favorite cacti are the Echinocactus Grusonii, globular cacti commonly called ‘mother-in-law seats’.
In 2019 he published “Cacti and Succulents”, which was sold at the Book Fair in Lima and Bogotá. Currently these copies can be found in virtual bookstores such as ´Amazon´ and ´El Corte Inglés´.
Luis has donated hundreds of cacti to the Cactario de Lince located in the Castilla Reserve, for which it received recognition from the current mayor Miguel Amable, as well as to the Miraflores Bicentennial Park, also being recognized by mayor Luis Molina, after the publication of a Council Agreement.
