Despite slight doubts, Markus Nina confirms that he wants to look forward and start over. Even Katharina has no idea how to get her ex-boyfriend to stay. “Maybe it’s a good thing if he starts somewhere else,” she admits to Tobi. “Nick and I… with a bit of luck you might be an uncle.”
Before the long journey, Markus meets up Farewell beer with his team. What begins with anecdotes suddenly escalates. Michi doubts that Markus even wants to come back. “But I don’t understand all that shit anyway,” he bursts out. The others want to appease, but he goes on. “Someone has to say it. What everyone here thinks.”
“What is everyone thinking here?” Markus wants to know. “That you’re running away. You made a promise to Simon that you can’t keep. And that’s why you’re throwing everything away now.”
Markus doesn’t let that sit on him: “You have no idea what it’s like. You weren’t there.” But Markus wasn’t there when Jessi crashed either. “And that’s why she’s lying down there now. Dead. Because I wasn’t there.” Do the mountain rescuers split up in a dispute?
