Thousands of residents took to the streets of La Plata to receive 2023 and share another historic burning of dolls that this year had 78 momos distributed in the corners of the different neighborhoods of the city. But among all of them, one stole all eyes and was the great winner of another unique day: the figures of “The Simpsons” were the big winners of the day and were established as the doll most voted for by the neighbors.

“As in each edition, we have enjoyed a unique show at the national level, of enormous cultural value that is made by the residents of La Plata and means a sample of the identity of each neighborhood of the Party”, valued the Secretary of Culture and Education local, Martiniano Ferrer Picado. On this occasion, the characters of the doll located at 25 and 32 stood out as the winners of the contest organized by the Commune, before the vote of more than 10,000 people.

Among the most chosen options on the site geomunecos.laplata.gob.ar, “Vida y magia” (31 and 39) were also located, momo that ranked second; “Ratatouille” (10 and 32), which was third; and Dibu Martínez (10 and 40), who ranked fourth and last among the momos that will receive an important economic prize of $150,000, $100,000, $50,000 and $30,000, respectively. Through the aforementioned digital platform launched by the Municipality, residents were able to access the location of each doll, the burning time and the color content of each structure to visit them the days before and choose which show to attend to bid farewell to the year and receive 2023, as well as vote for your favorites.

Prior to the burning, the Municipality carried out various control operations during the preparation period, which intensified throughout the night in order to guarantee the safety of those who attended the ceremonies. In addition, there was an informative meeting with those responsible for each structure, where the technical requirements and safety protocols that had to be followed during the burning were detailed.

DOLL MUSEUM AND WORKSHOPS TO ENCOURAGE TRADITION

With the aim of revaluing this classic from La Plata, the Municipality ordered the creation of the “Museo del Muñeco”, an itinerant space that will tour the neighborhoods so that everyone can enjoy workshops, exhibitions, exhibitions and different activities aimed at reconstructing the history of this tradition. .
