The TV series based on The Last of Us usually gets new episodes every Monday. The next episode – the season’s fifth – will, admittedly, come a little earlier than planned, reports HBO.

The series creator apparently wants to avoid a collision with the Super Bowl. The NFL season’s grand final begins at 00:30 on Monday 13 February, Norwegian time, and including commercial breaks and halftime entertainment, the game would still keep going well into the usual The Last of Us broadcast time.

HBO has therefore moved the episode forward two days. The continuation of the series will therefore take place on Saturday 11 February, on HBO Max. For those who want to avoid revelations, it can therefore be an advantage to stay away from social media, or just watch the episode as soon as it comes out.

The following week, it’s back to the normal broadcast schedule, with episodes released on Monday mornings.

The Last of Us has become a smash hit for HBO. according to VGC episode number four was the biggest to date, with 7.5 million viewers on the day of the premiere. The series was also praised by critics, including us at Gamer.no.

– HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us is a down-to-earth and solid version of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed action adventure. The series is extremely faithful to the source material, but at the same time offers enough new things along the way that this is a journey worth embarking on, also for those who have played the game before, wrote Espen Jansen in his review.

HBO has already ordered a new season, which will deal with the events of The Last of Us Part II. However, when we can expect to see it is not clear.
