Healthcare in Kronoberg has been on staff since mid-December, and planned operations have been cancelled. The reason is a strained situation with several viral diseases affecting both patients and staff at the hospitals.

The idea was to be able to return to normal on Monday, but the situation is still strained, and therefore they are now choosing to extend the operation stop once more.

– It looks somewhat better with the sick leave of the staff, but we still have many infection patients and the situation is strained, says hospital manager Florence Eddyson Hägg in a press release.

Until today, approximately 100 patients have been affected by the stop on planned operations. Emergency operations and cancer operations are not covered by the stop.
