The time has come: we overdid it. From today on we live against nature. our nature. Because the ecological resources for the entire year 2023 have been used up. The supply is at the end.
What that means? Our world cannot take back what we are asking of it for the remainder of this year. It’s called “earth overload” and counts from now on.
Clever minds have calculated that if everyone lives like we Germans, it costs the resources of around three Earths every year. Unimaginable, one would think. Irresponsible, one must say.

The CO₂ pollution caused by each individual is too high, as is global warming as a whole. Everyone is talking about it, (almost) everyone knows it – but do we want to know?
1.5 degrees more – after all: more and more increased temperature in this world – is the goal of the limitation. And can we do it?
It doesn’t look like it. States are only human too; which in turn means that they have to agree to really and truly do it seriously. But if the government in your own country doesn’t succeed, if skepticism and protests are high despite the facts, then it becomes even more difficult to convince others.
Representatives from 40 countries were in Germany to prepare for the world climate conference at the end of the year. The German representatives were high-ranking: Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Environment Minister Steffi Lemke. They had good words, good resolutions. And yet there is a day that reminds us all.
After all, their ecological footprint was okay – the conference took place in Berlin. The next one is in Dubai. Global goals for the expansion of renewable energies and help for poorer countries with climate protection: That’s what it will be about then. Global understanding is necessary. Urgent.
