The planes thunder over her apartment in Leinfelden-Echterdingen as they approach Stuttgart Airport. Inside, Maria (29) celebrates her favorite drink on day 4 of the “Perfect Dinner” (VOX) in Swabia: five bottles of red wine end up in the sauce alone.

“I don’t know whether the structure comes from my job or vice versa”: In any case, Maria (29), “Digital & Innovation” employee at a fashion group, has a hairstyle, make-up and outfits, as well as the handles. The youngest member of the Stuttgart dinner group not only combines Swabian pragmatism and Mediterranean pleasure in its character, but also in its menu. The title of her dessert can easily be transferred to its creator:

Motto: “My family – Franconia meets coastal town

Appetizer: Grandpa’s Franconian horseradish greets the Mediterranean

Main course: The lamb in grandma’s Greek garden

Dessert: Everyone’s darling

“The Perfect Dinner”: Cooking in the “Tree”

As a tribute to Greece, where part of her family comes from and where she likes to spend her holidays, Maria has created her menu. But Franconia and Swabia don’t miss out either – especially the regional drinks. “A few years ago my nickname was ‘Vino-Mary’,” Maria recalls with a smile: “I overdid it a bit.”

But that hasn’t been the case for a long time: Rather, she now regularly goes “to the gym”, especially in yoga. She prepares the sauce for her pan-fried lamb (“I eat meat no more than four or five times a year”) in the “Yoga Tree” exercise: “It’s a comfortable cooking posture.” Not in the glasses yet, but in the saucepan, broth, vegetables and five bottles of red wine are reduced to an aromatically concentrated jus.

“Madness”: appetizer lets guest fall into ecstasy

It starts with prawns on horseradish cream, dill foam and beetroot. They happen under turbulent circumstances: the fresh dill gets stuck in the hand blender and then topples over with its container. The little accident also throws Maria, who was so euphoric shortly beforehand (“I’m right on schedule – love it!”) a little off track: “It’s anarchy.”

Your dinner – your guests agree – is a real treat. The appetizer makes Julian (29) downright ecstatic: “Madness!” And the Greek “bougatsa”, a pastry made from home-made filo pastry and semolina cream, also completely convinced the group. In the end, three of the four guests, even the always skeptical Anja (“I have high expectations of Maria, but I don’t want to put any pressure on”), take action Maximum rating of ten points. This, combined with Thomas’ eight-point rating, gives (Almost) Everyone’s Darling Maria a clear lead one day before the final.
