The Police of the City of Buenos Aires disrupted in the last hours “Los Reyes del Rulo Financiero”, a gang that carried out maneuvers abroad to obtain dollars at official value and then sell them at a higher price in the Buenos Aires caves.
It was after three raids carried out by the Police in which almost 180,000 dollars and a large quantity of foreign currencies were seized. The illicit association was made up of at least two men.
The raids were carried out after an investigation initiated in September 2022 by the City Police’s Asset Laundering and Customs Crimes Division, under the orders of National Economic Criminal Judge No. 2, Pablo Yadarola, the prosecutor in Criminal and Economic Nº2, Emilio Gerberoff and before the Secretariat of Mariano Pisano with the aim of disrupting an illegal association that was dedicated to the realization of the so-called “financial loop”.
How was the investigation
In the investigation, the authorities managed to verify that at least two men maintained a commercial company through a hardware and software firm based in the Palermo neighborhood and an office in Puerto Madero. Through it, they were in charge of carrying out fraudulent maneuvers through false million-dollar purchases by foreign trade.
The defendants They sent the money to the United States for the sale of products that they never really received, with the sole purpose of getting the official dollar.
This was possible because they obtained prior authorization from the Central Bank, they obtained the official dollars and then transferred them to a bank account of the apocryphal company abroad to make the false purchase.
Now with the money in their possession, they once again entered the currency into an Argentine account, withdrew it and exchanged it in the financial caves, obtaining a higher value of the currency in the parallel market, generating the so-called “financial loop.”
The investigations made it possible to determine that said illicit association had been carrying out this fraudulent maneuver for years by issuing apocryphal invoices and also through money laundering. With the money they obtained, they bought and sold properties that were registered in the name of family, friends and front men.

For these maneuvers, the investigation showed that they had the complicity of public notaries who officiated as notaries before the transactions of assignment of rights, purchase of real estate and trusts.
In addition, said firm, made up of these two people, registered more than 30 operations foreign currency, all sent to a US-based firm that would also be owned by one of the evaders.
With all the information collected, the Court ordered that the members of the Department against Organized Crime of the City Police carry out three raids in the neighborhoods of Chacarita, Belgrano and Palermo.
Finally, in said procedures carried out in the last hours, the troops notified the two involved and seized 177,300 American dollars (USD), 65 British pounds, 100 Swiss pesos, 200 reais, 670 euros, 150,000 Argentine pesos, six notebooks, three cell phones. , hard drives and documentation of interest to the cause.
