Area policeman Johannes Schultz first gives the children a briefing on what applies to driving an electric scooter.

– What happens if you don’t have a helmet? Your mother and father can be fined if you don’t have a helmet. An electric scooter can go no more than 20 kilometers per hour, Johanns Schultz tells the students.

Today’s program is a collaboration between school, social services, police and emergency services. After reviewing the rules for electric scooters, the students are allowed to test drive on a track.

– It’s funny because many haven’t had the chance to try it before. We learn that with an electric scooter you must wear a helmet, says Shamhaad Ilmi, a student in year five at Rosengårdskolan.

– Unfortunately, there is a distorted image of the police that is not always correct. Today the children get to meet us in a situation where nothing has happened and we are here for them. They get to see who we are and they get to ask us questions, says area police officer Johannes Schultz.
