The Portuguese Deco returns to FC Barcelona as the club's new sports director

Former Portuguese nationalized Brazilian soccer player Anderson Luis de Souza, better known as Deco, returned to FC Barcelonaas the new sports director of the Catalan team, replacing Mateu Alemany.

Deco, who was already working as Alemany’s right hand in planning the squad for this season, signed a contract for three seasons and thus becomes the new trusted man of President Joan Laporta in the sports area.

This way Mateu Alemany said goodbye after announcing in May that he was leaving the Catalan club having an important offer from English Aston Villa, but that finally fell through and returned to the Barça team to continue designing the sports project.

now deco will be in charge of shaping the identity and sports philosophy that the president Joan Laporta intends and make the squad together with coach Xavi Hernández and his coaching staff.
