President Alberto Fernández handed over to the president of the Bloc of Deputies of the Frente de Todos, Germán Martínez; and to deputy Carolina Gaillard, president of the Impeachment Committee of that chamber; the impeachment request against the Supreme Court that he is promoting together with governors and called for its “prompt legislative treatment.”

As reported by Casa Rosada, Fernández summoned both legislators to deliver the text with the grounds to promote the impeachment trial against the courtiers and “He asked the deputies to begin their prompt legislative treatment.”

After ten governors signed the document promoted by President Alberto Fernández to initiate a political trial against the leadership of the Supreme Court, the countdown was activated in the Chamber of Deputies, where an ad hoc commission would begin to work during the session extraordinary within the framework of a long process that will probably culminate without the result desired by the ruling party.

It happens that the Frente de Todos lacks the qualified majorities necessary in both chambers to move the magistrates.

In any case, the space has the initial advantage that in the impeachment commission chaired by the Albertista deputy Gaillard there are 16 members of the ruling party out of a total of 31, which guarantees a simple majority to sit the four magistrates, whose actions have been in the eye of the storm in recent days due to compromising leaked chats, which feature Silvio Robles, the spokesman and general director of the Court’s president, Horacio Rosatti.

With that number, the Frente de Todos will be able to open a summary and initiate the formal accusation for poor performance in their functions (according to article 53 of the Constitution) against Rosatti and the other three courtiers: Vice President Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda, and Ricardo Lorenzetti.
