The company Hellstén’s construction and contracting were dissatisfied with the way Eskilstuna municipality managed the procurement of contracting services and truck transport and demanded damages. The company said that Eskilstuna Municipality bought services from another company for almost a year and a half, even though Hellsténs was ranked number one in the framework agreement that was in place.
Denies fault – pays anyway
The case ended up in Eskilstuna District Court, where the municipality claimed that no mistakes had been made. Nevertheless, the municipality agreed to a settlement with Hellsténs, which means that the municipality must pay the company 750,000 kroner. Hellsténs, for its part, undertakes to release all claims for damages in the case.
– A settlement was the best option in this case, says Andreas Wennersten, area manager for urban environment at Eskilstuna municipality.
SVT has also been in contact with representatives of Hellsténs, who have declined to comment.
