the argentinian boys prepare for their debut against paraguay
The Argentine U-20 national team carried out its first training session yesterday in the Colombian city of Cali, where next Saturday it will debut against Paraguay in the South American qualifying championship for the World Cup in Indonesia that will take place between May and June of this year.
The national representative led by Javier Mascherano is concentrated in the Dann Carlton hotel, in Cali, and only has two players on its squad who play outside of Argentina, and they are Nicolás Paz, from Real Madrid, and Facundo Buonannote, from Brighton and Hove English.
This event will award four places for the Indonesian World Cup and three for the Pan American Games in Chile, which will take place between October and November, since the host is classified as such.
The tournament, which will have Nicolás Lamolina as the main judge and Maximiliano del Yesso and Facundo Rodríguez as assistants, will have three other venues, and in addition to the aforementioned Cali, there will be those of Bogotá and Palmira.
Argentina, which will have a free date on the opening day next Thursday, will face Paraguay (the group stage is played every 48 hours) on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. (16:00 p.m. in Colombia), for zone A of the competition, which will also count with Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
Group B will be made up of Ecuador, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela and Bolivia and the first three of each zone will qualify for the final hexagonal that will determine the aforementioned qualifying positions.
After yesterday’s evening training, the activity of the albiceleste team will continue today at 10 am with an official photo session by Conmebol (South American Football Confederation) and from 4 pm there will be a new practice.
Instead, tomorrow there will be a morning training session open to the press from 7:30 p.m., something that will be repeated Thursday and Friday, but in both cases again from 4:00 p.m.
Argentina is in Group A of the tournament along with Paraguay, Brazil, Colombia and Peru
