It was 2002 when a young Kieran Richardson jumped onto the lawn of the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ for the first time. It was November 5th. In that match he fulfilled the dream of any young man: scoring a goal on his debut with the first team. However, that season he did not achieve great success and barely added minutes to his account. Same trend the following two years. When he returned to Manchester United, in the summer of 2005, and after a spell at West Bromwich Albion, this streak ended and established itself as a serious option in the center of the red field.
In total, he played 81 games for the Red Devils, scoring 11 goals and lifting the Premier League trophy in the 2006/2007 season. He even made his debut with the English senior team, with whom he played eight games. His career was beginning to take flight. But suddenly he was cut short. He wasn’t a bad player, but he did contradict the sign that some posted about him as a ‘promise’.
