The Rosario Stock Exchange held a new edition of the auction of the first batch of soybeans, an event that marks the beginning of the commercialization of the oilseed. During the meeting, the president of the entity, Miguel Simioni, made his traditional speech and took advantage of the occasion to send an “urgent” request to the national government linked to the consequences of the drought.

“We demand that the State at all levels articulate the necessary measures to address this dramatic situation, and guarantee the subsistence of those men and women in the countryside who were hit by the drought, and who lack the necessary resources to face the next cycle. agricultural”, he expressed before a crowd, among which was present the governor of Santa Fe, Omar Perotti, and part of his cabinet.

In this context, the leader of the BCR asserted: “These are not times to continue improvising with announcements or disorderly measures, which only work as a park when foreign currency is needed.”

Simioni also detailed the losses suffered by the field in the face of the historic drought: “We have been suffering from it for three years, each one of the producers knows it. We lost more than 50% of what we predicted at the beginning of planting. We practically lost 6.5 million hectares of wheat, corn and soybeans. This is half of the province of Santa Fe without planting”.
