The King and Queen Consort Camilla arrived at Windsor Castle on Sunday to celebrate Easter, accompanied in particular by William, Kate and their children George, Charlotte and Louis, all dressed in blue.

First Easter for Charles III since his accession to the throne. This Sunday, the royal family gathered at Windsor Castle to celebrate this holiday. The King and Queen Consort Camilla arrived outside the front steps of St George’s Chapel to attend the traditional Easter Sunday mass.

The royal couple were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate and their three children George, Charlotte and Louis, all dressed in blue. Withdrawn from public life and stripped of his functions and honors after a sex scandal, Prince Andrew also made a remarkable appearance alongside his sister, Princess Anne.

Other members of the royal family were pictured arriving for mass: the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their son, the Earl of Wessex, as well as the pregnant Princess Eugenie. The only major absentees from this meeting: Harry and Meghan, who left with a bang in 2020 to live in the United States and were cold with the royal family.

symbolic celebration

This Easter Sunday is all the more symbolic for the British royal family since it is the first celebration of this holiday since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.

The sovereign had made it a tradition to celebrate Easter every year with her family at her residence in Berkshire. April 9 also marks the death, two years to the day, of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and father of Charles III, at the age of 99.
