The anecdote has come to my mind regarding the murder last week of Israel San Román Doroteo, ‘La Tota’, his wife, his parents and two of his minor children. In just 26 seconds!, and in broad daylight, a group of hitmen ended the lives of three entire generations.
It is the most horrifying murder that occurred in Limabut which has been relegated to the background by the violent riots of a group of left-wing radicals.
Illegal Civil Construction Union
Few have put in its real dimension this slaughter. It is a fratricidal war between illegal syndicates of Civil construction who dispute the leadership in Lima. ‘La Tota’ was the head of one of those more than fifty cartels that, since the 1990s, appeared with the ‘boom’ of buildings in Lima.
They are groups of criminals who have become billionaires without working, blackmailing builders and their families, in exchange for letting them do their work without problems. Not just businessmen. Also to any ordinary citizen who intends to build or fix your little house in any Lima neighborhood. That happens in Lima and throughout the country.
“It is the beginning of a war without quarter. Now the leaders do not even respect the families of their enemies. Before, according to their codes, no one messed with relatives. It is a macabre message that he had never seen. The children were still alive. The hitman put half his body through the car window to fire more than half a dozen bullets at the minors. The order was to kill everyone,” one of the police officers investigating the case tells me, alarmed.
