This Thursday, Daniel Sancho received the second visit from his father in Koh Samui prison, where he has remained in provisional detention for a month awaiting trial. The young man could face life imprisonment or, perhaps, the death penalty after “premeditatedly” murdering and dismembering Edwin Arrieta. The Colombian surgeon flew to Thailand without imagining that the Spaniard would cruelly end his life. Proof of this is the image that the ‘Mañaneros’ program broadcast this morning.

The program hosted by Jaime Cantizano on Spanish Television has shared with its viewers the ‘selfie’ that Edwin Arrieta took with Daniel Sancho just a few hours before dying on the island of Koh Phangan. A private photograph that could belong to the Colombian’s mobile phone.

Chronology

The son of Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchalo landed in Thailand on July 30, although it was not until August 1 that he moved to Koh Phangan. The next day, Edwin Arrieta arrived to spend a few days disconnecting with the Spaniard. That same night, the surgeon died in the room of a house that the confessed murderer had previously rented.

It was not until two days later that Daniel Sancho went to the police station to report the disappearance of the doctor in a very suspicious manner. Some blood stains and scratches on the young man’s arms put the authorities on alert, who quickly questioned and detained him.
