The Ministry of Communications and Transport Infrastructure (SICT) published this Monday a second coordination agreement on the reallocation of resources with the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) and the Government of Mexico City (this time for an amount of 375 million pesos) in order to continue the reinforcement works of Terminal 2.

The purpose of this agreement and the annexes that form an integral part of it, are to transfer federal budgetary resources to the federative entity to coordinate its participation with the Federal Executive in matters of public works of the building”, was detailed in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).

The estimated amount of the works that are in charge of the capital government is 600 million pesos and is carried out with a public budget.

In line with said need for resources (and with the urgency to improve the infrastructure), on November 28 it announced a first reallocation of 100 million pesos, so that to date there are 475 million pesos for the works that They should finish this year.

According to information from the CDMX Secretariat of Works and Services, the structural reinforcement of the foundation and complementary works in Terminal 2 of the AICM are carried out by the companies Alfa Proveedores y Contratistas, Jaguar Ingenieros Constructores and Cemex Concretos, although they have added at least one more in the last three months.

Recently, the director of the airport, Carlos Velázquez Tiscareño, said that the works are progressing on time and without affecting the users of the terminal where Aeroméxico has its main operations center in the country.

In order to inform the population about the management of resources, the agreement published in the DOF specifies: The Federal Executive, through AICM, will disseminate on its website the function(s), program(s) or project(s) financed with the resources referred to in the second clause of this agreement, including progress and physical and financial results.

The federal entity undertakes, for its part, to disseminate said information through its website and other public media, under the terms of the applicable provisions.
