The death by María del Carmen Martínez-Villaseñor Barrasa, better known as ‘Mari Carmen and her dolls’ It has been a great loss for Spanish comedy. The interpreter who gave life to characters such as Doña Rogelia, Daisy, Nícol and Rodolfo unexpectedly lost her life in her house in Tenerife at the age of 80. And, although the first indications pointed to a fall as the cause of death, his son has denied it during a brief intervention in Public mirror.

Miguel Almanzor, clearly affected by the loss of his mother, has revealed that there was a fall, but that it was apparently caused by a previous heart attack. “It was not up the stairs, it was at the door of the house, right on the sidewalk. She had a heart attack and fell by herself”, he explained before telling that they still do not know “why he left home”.

Although she had not had any known heart disease, Mari Carmen did have a history of cardiovascular disease. “They wanted to remove some catheters from some veins in his legs”, Almanzor has pointed out. “He had the typical little things of his age. Sugar, he smoked… I didn’t like anything that he did, ”he added.

With projects in hand

At 80 years old, Mari Carmen still had projects on her hands and was not retired at all. In fact, her son has thanked José Manuel Parada for the closeness he had always had with his mother. “They were very good to her until the end. It gave her a lot of life that they continued to count on her. That Parada will always name her It’s something I’m very grateful for.”

In the pipeline are some memories and a tape with a script already written that his son, as a tribute, will try to carry out. “The film was called Forbidden to laugh He did it with a friend of ours who believed a lot in this project. We will try to finish it, if possible, I see it complicated”, Almanzor has settled.
