The stand, which had been landscaped, was completely destroyed as a result of the fire. The fire is described as a tragedy for Ljungby IF.
– The building must be restored to its original condition, said Johan Mansfeld, deputy property manager at Ljungby municipality to SVT this summer.
The technical committee in Ljungby municipality has now made a decision on how to proceed with the reconstruction of the stand and how the procurement of contractors should be carried out.
According to the municipality, however, the cost of the reconstruction is still unclear, as there is a risk of hidden damage in the parts that remain after the fire.
The preliminary investigation closed
The stand was built in 2016 for SEK 27.5 million. The reduction in value for the stands has been estimated at approximately SEK 10 million. The police classified the incident as suspected arson, but the preliminary investigation was dropped.
