Once again, the celebrities will be challenged in the series: I fyr og flamme. This time, the neighbors Gaup and Gullestad had one goal: To end up in the British press.

I fyr og flamme is a program where celebrity teams try to complete the wildest challenges they can imagine. In addition, there is a panel of judges who will guess whether the participants have completed the challenge or not.

Dermatologist has never come across anything like this

Gaup and Gullestad travel to Manchester, where they try to use Erling Braut Haaland (22) as bait for the British media to make a case about them.

Got pissed off

The friends lied to a BBC journalist that they were making a Norwegian program where they found new homes for Norwegian celebrities abroad.

– We showed that there was a rumor that Haaland would be bought by Manchester City when we recorded the series in April 2022. Thus we gave strong hints that we were talking about Haaland without confirming it, says Gaup to TV 2.

Their plan was to exchange information for the BBC to make a case about their fictional programme. Eventually, the British journalist realized that the boys were not telling the truth.

– He got pissed off, and waved his fist. Fortunately, we had a production company with us who took the discussion. I think the BBC and TV 2 have had a conflict since then, says Gullestad.

Went viral

Despite the BBC not making a case about the celebrity duo, they didn’t give up. During a football match later in the evening, the boys pulled off a stunt that would later be shared by Twitter users with more than 100,000 followers.

– At that point we had almost given up, says Gaup.

The boys were wearing wigs and had written “Haaland is coming” on their torsos.

– We had no idea that it was going to go viral, we were simply lucky, says Gullestad.

The picture was shared by several users all over the world, where it ended up in Brazil and Japan, among others.

– It is a simple recipe. Just undress, and you’ll end up on the internet, Gullestad says with a laugh.

The rumor that Haaland was going to start at the football club Manchester City turned out to be true.

Discussion in the studio

After the entire session was shown in front of the panel of judges, several disagreements arose as to whether the challenge should be approved or not. The judging panel in Thursday’s episode consists of Marius Sjelbæk (32) and Erik Solbakken (37).

– I prefer a big no. This is not to end up in the media, says Sjelbæk firmly in the episode.

It was also discussed among the other participants whether the challenge had been approved.

– I noticed that some of the influencers did not recognize Instagram and Twitter as worthy platforms to go viral on. The internet is clearly a 24/7 fly, says Gaup ironically to TV 2.

Whether the challenge is approved or not, you will see in Thursday’s episode In fire and flames on TV 2 Play.
