In the video, you hear Ulf Hedberg explain why the union has contacted the Swedish Work Environment Authority and deputy head of school Anna Ullenius’ answer.

Threats and violence, stress and anxiety as well as unclear structure and different messages were the main features of the letter about the Eastern school that the Swedish teachers’ union addressed to the municipality of Sunne in February.

The municipality then took measures such as moving students to another school and Sunne municipality’s deputy head of school Anna Ullenius stepped in as acting principal at Östra skolan. Weekly reconciliations with union representatives from Sweden’s teachers were also introduced.

Both the union and school principal Anna Ullenius believe that great strides have been made since February.

“There is more to do”

But from the staff’s side, they believe that there is more to do – that is why they request via a so-called 6:6a notification that the Work Environment Agency take a closer look at the situation at the school and whether the measures that have been taken are sufficient.

Anna Ullenius is a bit questioning about the request.

– I don’t know what it’s about yet. But I’ll meet the union again on Wednesday, then I’ll hear what they think we should work on that hasn’t worked so far, she says.
