There is a real wine market and in some parts of the world some vintage bottles go to auction for sometimes exorbitant prices. The six-litre bottle of Mathusalem by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti from 2000 was auctioned off by Sotheby’s Wine for €357,000. A bottle of wine in the supermarket costs between 2 and 13€. Sometimes with offers you can also find bottles that cost less than €2. The quality? According to many it is excellent. Now you will discover wines that you will never find on supermarket shelves.

Italy is the country of wine. A good glass of wine cannot be missing on our tables every day. From red to white and rosé, the choice is varied. Each dish is then associated with the colour, taste and smell of a different wine.

On average, a glass of wine is drunk every day for an annual consumption of about 34 litres. Italy is the second country in Europe and the third in the world where the most wine is drunk. The regions where it is drunk the most are Umbria with a percentage of 62% of the inhabitants. Then follows the Marches and Veneto (about 60%). In the queue are Sardinia and Sicily with about 45%.
