Sometimes Netflix has split up some of its TV seasons to build some suspense, like Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. Sometimes they have split seasons to give the effects makers time to complete the special effects, like the fourth season of Stranger Things. Now the same thing could happen to the third season of The Witcher if we are to believe series creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who in an interview with Collider meant that it would not be completely unthinkable given that it is an increasingly common occurrence:

“We haven’t discussed that [splitting the season] yet, but at this point I think what we see happening across all sorts of streamers, I wouldn’t rule it out. I do think that, obviously, we don’t put anything out that we’re not incredibly proud of. So that dictates our entire launch date. And I think it’ll be interesting. Again, we have a way still a very long time, eight-ish months or so until Witcher Season 3 comes out. So God willing, we get it all out at the same time. But who knows, we’ll see what happens.”

There’s no premiere date yet for Netflix’s snarky fantasy show other than it’s due sometime this summer, but don’t be surprised if you only get half the experience at first. The season will also be Henry Cavill’s last portrayal of the witch before Liam Hemsworth takes over. How excited are you for more The Witcher?

Now it’s Warhammer ahead for Mr. Cavill…
