In April 2022, Apeks Rebels were almost on bare ground. The team had just lost two of its leading players to one of its biggest rivals after a period of extremely strong results. Again from the team that almost took the big slam during Fragadelphia was the team’s Ingame leader, Ådne “sense” Fredriksen and coach Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg.

From the outside, it could look as if Apeks’ talent project was dead.

It wasn’t.

A month later, the organization released a press release stating that they had once again handpicked some of the greatest talent they could find in Norwegian Counter-Strike. And Rebel’s version two was underway.

Seven months later, it is safe to say that Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg has got used to his talents, and no team showed greater development throughout the autumn. The combination of raw talent, determination and competence has made Apeks Rebels one of the most exciting things we have had in Norway for several years.

The oldest man on the team is Viktor “vHw” Høiby Wadman. Wadman, who is 24 years old, joined the team after a very strong period for 00 Prospects, and who has continued his development towards becoming a complete player. The remaining players are 18-19 and 20 years old, but already have a lot of experience at the highest level in Norway, and we believe they will only get better.

Ådne “sense” Fredriksen seems to be better than ever before the spring Telialiga starts.

Eivind von Døhlen/Good Game

Ådne “sense” Fredriksen was phenomenal when, through his responsibility as Ingame manager, he kept his composure under enormous pressure from Wizard in the autumn finals in the Telialigaen. Sindre “Tapewaare” Ellefsen has been mentioned by several of the other teams as the player who will stand out this season. Tobias “berzerk” Bertelsen showed a shockingly good peak level with his AWP during the playoffs last year, and Patrik “Brave” Karlsen completes the lineup with raw aim and exciting development potential.

The Telia league kicks off tonight at 18:00. We at Gamer.no believe that Apeks Rebels will win this season of the Telialigaen.

We will defend the title

We had a chat with Apeks Rebel’s Danish coach. Nyborg has been associated with Apeks since December 2021, and has without a doubt been decisive for the success of the academy initiative.

The coach has ambitions to defend the title from last season.

– We enter this season as reigning champions, and have started the season with a good training camp, where we discussed objectives and the team’s expectations of each other. We do this at the beginning of each season. If we, as reigning champions, do not aim to defend the title as Norway’s best team, then we are aiming too low.

Nyborg continues.

– Our aim is to show that we are the best team in Norway. We are preparing by adjusting some roles, and strengthening our selection of maps. We have started to discuss more details in our game, and will therefore pay attention to renewing our tactics book, so that we do not become too easy to see through.

Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg believes Apeks Rebels must defend their status as Norway’s best team.

High expectations for Metizport

When asked which players Nyborg thinks will stand out from other teams, there are several he has expectations for.

– There are several players I would like to see shine. Steffen “SLY” Amundsen in 777 probably fits better into the system where his team is now, so he will probably deliver a good game and deliver solid performances. I also have high expectations for Metizport. Morten “zEVES” Vollan Christensen has said that he is better individually than ever, so he is putting himself in a position where he has to deliver well. I also hope Haris “H4RR3” Hadzic shows that he is of international standard, and shows that he still has what it takes.

Sindre Stien/Good Game

The former MOUZ coach is used to big matches, but before the spring season, it is not only the top matches that he is looking forward to.

– So, our matches against 777 and Wizard are always exciting and close, but we look forward to playing against Center Gaming and INFURITY to see if they have what it takes to play in the first division. Both teams have players we keep an eye on in the club as the potential future in Norwegian Counter-Strike, so we have to see if they can handle the pressure when we meet them on the server.

We have predicted that you will run away with 1st place in this year’s Telialiga. What do you think of our prediction?

– I think it is the only right choice, concludes the Dane.

Why are we predicting Apeks Rebels in 1st place?

Apeks Rebels have retained the same team that secured first place during the autumn playoffs. Since they were put together, the team has shown that they are constantly taking new big steps under the leadership of their Danish coach. We believe the team will continue to take new steps, and thus take the lead as the best team in Norway. We justify this by the fact that the rebels will not play their best Counter-Strike at the age of 18, 19 and 20, but that they have their best days well ahead of them. They will not get worse in Counter-Strike in the next few years, quite the opposite.

We at Gamer.no ask that Apeks Rebels win the Telialigaen, this time too.
