The father of the beaten baby
The father of the two-month-old baby who had to be hospitalized due to a series of very serious injuries, which would have been caused, according to the Justice, in the context of terrible beatings, refused to testify yesterday before the prosecutor Marcelo Romero.
With the assistance of the Ombudsman No. 4, in charge of doctors Martínez and Ripani, the 30-year-old preferred to remain silent and evaluate, at some other time, the possibility of expanding the investigation.
As is known, they charge him, along with the child’s mother, with a terrible crime: “Aggravated homicide by the bond and treachery, in the degree of attempt.”
It is that the victim, now four months old, is still admitted to the Sor María Ludovica Hospital in La Plata, with fractures and other severe trauma.
“The baby did not die by a miracle,” was the conclusion of the professionals who assisted him.
IRRATIONAL BRUTALITY
The investigators understand that he would have been smashed against the wall, that he received punches and suffered brutal shaking.
As will be remembered, shortly after the arrest of both parents, they showed conflicting interests and began to blame each other, for which reason, wisely, it was decided to separate their defenses to avoid conflicts.
It is expected that, once he receives medical discharge, a Family Court will order a protective measure for his accommodation in an institution such as the former Casa Cuna, now Hospital Noel Sbarra.
In the cause, as it will be remembered, the judge of guarantees, Marcela Garmendia, also intervenes.
