Finding themselves outmatched, a policewoman runs to take shelter in a nearby street, while the other quickly gets into the patrol car, reverses and flees the scene, leaving behind his partner and the civilians who were in the middle of the confrontation. The scuffle would have been repelled by the owner of the flower shop, who began to shoot from inside against the hitmen, who finally withdrew from the place. It should be noted that during those critical moments the police did not return with reinforcements to the flower shop located between José María Morelos and Zapata streets.
Supposedly, Los Mochis authorities would have arrived as soon as the confrontation ended to affix closure stamps, while other nearby flower shops continued to work due to high seasonal demand, local media reported.
On the morning of this May 10, a flower crown was placed outside from the premises, in the warehouse area, where the attack occurred, with a message alluding to alleged illegal activities by the owner of “Rosas Los Mochis”.
