The strategist was satisfied with the team’s performance in the Copa Libertadores victory over Monagas. However, he stressed that they must improve the settlement to be more competitive.
Colo Colo carried out the task and was able to beat Monagas by the minimum score, in a match where the team had several chances to sentence it, but it ended up getting complicated near the end. All this was analyzed by Gustavo Quinteros in a press conference, who in the first instance valued the result that allows them to be in the fight for Group F of the Copa Libertadores.
“It was a favorable start for Colo Colo. We had several opportunities to secure the result, but we lacked efficiency, being calmer, more precise in finishing. We are happy with the win. The group deserved this, we have worked very hard and we have managed to reverse the start we had in the national tournament”, began the DT.
Regarding the complications in the last minutes with the visitors pushing to tie, the strategist left homework. “We ended up a little tight because of the result and nervousbecause the rival had options to tie with centers, with counterattacks, with balls and stopped balls. The outstanding debt is precision and trying to be more effective in the last meters”, he added.
The good points
Quinteros took stock of the positive aspects left by the Cacique in his international presentation and what needs to be improved: “What I highlight the most is the defensive solidity, keeping the goal at zerothe transitions that we had that many times ended in danger to convert, we generated seven or eight clear chances. The most difficult thing for a team is generating, now we have to work on finishing. Focused on those moments for the next games”.
