The Seventh Constitutional Court of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima admitted to process the habeas corpus filing in favor of the detainees during the police intervention in the National University of San Marcoslast Saturday January 21.

The appeal was filed by the citizens Juan Carlos Ruíz Molleda, Jennie Dador and Stefany Ugo Rodrigue, representing the National Human Rights Coordinator and the Institute for Legal Defense (IDL) against the General Commander of the Police, Raul Alfaro Alvaradoand the Minister of the Interior, Vincent Romero. With this, it is sought that those intervened are released immediately.

In the document presented, it is alleged that the highest police authority and the head of the Interior committed “alleged attack against individual freedom – arbitrary detention and right to defense.
