Labor Connection of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce together with Wendy’s of Puerto Rico will organize a Recruitment Fair on Thursday, June 15, 2023, where a thousand jobs will be offered throughout the island.

“We want to help people who are looking for a job opportunity and employers who need to increase their workforce,” said Manuel Cidre Miranda, secretary of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce in a written communication.

“Wendy’s restaurants have positions available from management assistance to customer service,” he added.

This event will not only be aimed at youth and adults, but will also provide opportunities for ex-inmates, thus promoting equitable recruitment in the Puerto Rican workforce.

Migdalia Bonilla Méndez, interim director of Conexión Laboral, explained: “Our staff will be assisting Grupo Colón Gerena and each participant to facilitate the interview and recruitment process.” She added that the fair will have spaces for interviews and laboratory services to obtain health certificates, among other services.

The Department of Economic Development and Commerce is the agency designated by the Governor of Puerto Rico to administer federal funds received under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Conexión Laboral aims to promote and develop the talent of the workforce by investing in education, training and employment.
