They arrest a man who allegedly committed 6 sexual assaults in two days in DC

A man allegedly committed three sexual assaults, was arrested, released and then committed three more in Washington DC over two days, authorities said.

Christopher Joseph Sharp, 38, was arrested for the first time after three alleged groping offenses Sunday morning.

Two of them occurred in the Palisades neighborhood and the third on Massachusetts Avenue NW, near the home of Vice President Kamala Harris at the Naval Observatory.

At his court appearance, Sharp was ordered released with a promise to return for trial. For an unknown reason, he was hospitalized at George Washington University Hospital on Monday night.

Minutes after his release Tuesday morning, just outside the hospital, two more women reported being groped by a man with long, dirty blonde hair wearing a hospital shirt.

Then, at 9:55 am, a sixth victim reported the most violent of the attacks.

According to witnesses who tried to help her, she was forcefully attacked from behind, lifted above shoulder height into the air, also by a man with dirty blonde hair, who was wearing a hospital shirt.

He allegedly tried to strangle the woman with his legs and pinned her down with such force that she had scratches all over her body and a possible broken arm. She may have lost consciousness.

Witnesses finally managed to get him to release her after beating him. They described to police the horrific sight of the man holding her up and walking several meters forward.

Sharp was arrested near the area. He is charged with assault with intent to commit first degree sexual assault, kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor.
