The Guatemalan Mayan Center in Lake Worth Beach, reopened in a new building. Accompanied by authorities and local leaders, entire families enjoyed a morning full of games, sweets for the little ones, food and a typical Guatemalan dance.

“We are super excited on this day, especially being July 1 because we can reopen our center, which is a safe place for the community, and specifically today we want to calm those nerves and make sure that our community feels at home even though they have a community here in the city. of Lake Worth,” Blanco said.

Present at the reopening were Palm Beach County Mayor Greg Weiss, and the Center’s founder, Father Frank. This new downtown building even has a clinic for immigrants who do not have health insurance. For 30 years the Centro Maya Guatemalteco has provided all kinds of help to the immigrant community.
