A subject was arrested in the last hours accused of being responsible for murdering a trans woman by hanging her with a belt, an event that took place in December of last year, in an apartment located in the vicinity of Plaza Rocha, police sources reported.
The crime was discovered on December 15, when a woman entered the apartment of a building located on Calle 7 between 58 and 59.
Her friend lived there, a trans woman identified as Ariana Díaz Chávez, and that day she had gone there to visit her as she was worried about not having heard from her for several days.
Unlike the relaxed moment that she planned to spend, the woman found herself with a gloomy scene. After several minutes of remaining at the door, since the strong odor emanating from the place as a result of the advanced state of decomposition in which the corpse was found made access difficult, the woman finally crossed the threshold and came across a body without life, lying on the floor and with a belt around his neck.
Despite the terrible moment that she had to live, the woman recognized the person instantly. It was Diaz Chavez.
He immediately called 911 to report what happened.

The next steps taken by the uniformed specialists in the analysis of the criminal scene was to establish contact with the administrators of the housing complex to request the images captured by the security cameras.
It was hard work since several days had passed since the day of the crime. “More than a hundred hours of film records were analyzed. In addition, a long list of incoming and outgoing telephone calls was analyzed, which were made on the day of the crime, in which the antenna corresponding to the scene of the crime intervened. Thus, it was possible to determine a common telephone subscriber, in the places of interest, which in the end it was possible to identify, ”a police source explained to this newspaper.
As indicated, the investigators analyzed the cameras of the building and adjoining properties, managing to detect the entry of a man who stayed in the apartment for about four hours and then left wearing other clothes and carrying a suitcase.
In turn, the police were also looking for a phone that was missing from the victim’s house and that it could be established that it had been activated after the change of the sim card. Following this track, the investigations found a man, whose identity was not provided, who had a cell phone in use.
This subject stated that he had received the device as part of payment for a job. The identity provided by this person coincided with that of the subscriber to a telephone service and it was in this context that an operation was activated to arrest him.
After certifying that he had an address at 89 between 27 and 28, Altos de San Lorenzo, the troops went to the place and managed to find the 19-year-old suspect, who was at his parents’ house.
