They ask Facebook to deliver account data of a woman accused of fraudulently selling paper plates

HOUSTON – Harris County investigators recently asked META (Facebook) to provide information about the Facebook account and business activity of a Houston-area woman accused of distributing nearly 1,000 fake paper license plates in an effort to obtain a license. economic gain.

Tina Jimenez, 38, of the Spring area, faces charges of money laundering and distributing temporary license plates to unauthorized persons.

The crimes investigated, considered serious, would have been committed between January 2021 and May 2022, according to Harris County investigators.

According to initial inquiries, the woman used her EZ Used Cars and Trucks business to issue the special temporary license plates for the dealer’s restricted use, while no sales were reported during that period.

The investigator in the case believes that “the defendant was selling the temporary plates for a profit.” After gaining access to Jiménez’s bank account, they observed that the woman received more than $5,300 in payments through the Zelle platform, charges that the woman -apparently- could not justify before the authorities.

The request made to META was made earlier this month.

Jiménez is on probation after posting $10,000 bail. The woman has had multiple run-ins with law enforcement officers since 2003.
