Stories of love, dance and commerce are those that are remembered among the residents of the old Miraflores Alley, which is located next to the Santa Anita neighborhood, in the downtown area, a place that today looks neglected, with damage to the pedestrian infrastructure and where, According to the neighbors, the fights are constant between groups that live in the surroundings.
About 20 families live in the alley, according to Ana María, one of the residents of the place, who remembers the chronicles that her mother told her when she was a child.
Forgot. The last time Callejón Miraflores was given a makeover was in 2008; Currently, the place is dominated by graffiti and abandoned houses.
“She was a merchant and she told us that in this neighborhood, in the entire alleyway that crosses to the Manuel Moreno and Santa Anita viewpoints, the church festival was put on, they were very happy festivals where they closed the streets, people danced danzón, I I remember that all this was done, but there was a time when it became insecure”, recalls Ana María.
Right there, in a small street that goes down towards Mariano Escobedo, where a blade is formed, stories of lovers arose, because there is an Alley of the Kiss, in addition to a staircase that leads to a small square where today help is provided to a group of people living on the streets.

It is a non-profit group headed by Don Gil, a neighbor of the neighborhood and who provides help to those in need.
“We have helped many people, here in my house is where they come and ask for help, There are people who are in very serious situations such as drugs, glass, but here we take that away from them, we help them.
“Right now I have several people who come here to eat, to have dinner, to spend the night,” explains Don Gil.
Like Ana María, she opined that in the alley and the Mirador, surveillance by the Municipal Police is required to provide security to the neighbors, in addition to the rehabilitation of the public space so that it can be used by families.
Rescue. There are numerous houses that are abandoned and that make the place ugly.
“Sometimes here we don’t have electricity because they cut it off, almost no garbage passes up here, so we have to collect it in one place, but it’s a lot of effort for the neighbors, since most of them are older people,” he explained.
He recalled that the last rehabilitation that was done in that space was in 2008, when new streetlights were placed, the floor was restored and the viewpoint area was rescued with activities such as dance, street theater and other activities that motivated the neighbors. from the surroundings.
