After an important police deployment that involved four raids carried out at different points in Garupá and that involved various units of the Misiones Police, yesterday morning the arrest of one of the two men who assaulted an elderly woman last Tuesday 84-year-old from San Ignacio who, under threats and beatings, was stripped of a large sum of cash.

Beyond this arrest and the substantial advances for the investigation, the investigators continued yesterday with the search for the second person involved in the crime.

According to police spokesmen who intervened in the operations, the cross-linking of data and investigations carried out by the Misiones Police made it possible to determine that a criminal duo, involved in the theft of 600,000 pesos in cash from a neighbor in the Ema neighborhood of San Ignacio, would have been seen over the weekend in Garupá.

The data provided indicated that the criminals had acted under threats with firearms, which is why they were considered dangerous for the uniformed officers.

After the investigators managed to identify four places where they could be hiding, the Investigating Court Two of Jardín América, in charge of the investigation, requested a series of raids on different points of investigation by the Investigating Court Six of Posadas. Garupá.

These were carried out both in the Fátima and Ripiera neighborhoods and all of these took place yesterday morning.

Thus, in the requisition of a building located on Yerbales and El Ceibo streets, one of the criminals was arrested. This was identified as Kevin Francisco M. (23) and during the search, a pair of jeans shorts and dark T-shirts were seized, similar to the one the suspect had at the time of the robbery.

As if that were not enough, more than 650,000 pesos in cash were also seized from the house, which could be the stolen money.

This morning paper was also able to learn that in another of the raided buildings, in this case in the Fátima neighborhood, 145,000 pesos in cash were seized, among other evidence for the investigation.

Members of the Infantry Guard Directorate, the Rapid Intervention Directorate, the Fatima Motorized Division and the UR-X Investigation Brigade Division participated in the different deployments: And all of these had the collaboration of members of the 5th, 14th Police Stations °, Garupá and the Fatima and Santa Clara Command Divisions.

Reduced at home

According to the reconstruction of the events carried out by the Misiones Police, the robbery occurred on the last Tuesday, February 14, minutes after 3:30 p.m. Until that moment it was a normal afternoon for Rafaela G. (84), until at a certain moment, two strangers intercepted her inside her home in the Ema neighborhood of San Ignacio and under threats forced her to remain still and without shouting in one of the the rooms.

After being tied up, the criminals requisitioned the entire house and in a matter of minutes ended up escaping with 600,000 pesos in cash.

And for the escape, according to what the local police station officers were able to relieve, the thieves used a Toyota Corolla.

Beyond the raids and the arrest of one of those involved, Justice continues with the search for the other involved in the robbery, identified as Francisco Ramón M., and who would be a relative of the detainee. As well as the firearm used and the vehicle in question.
