For sexual abuse committed against several detainees at a police station in the table from September 2019 to January 2020, ten police officers were found “guilty” by a popular jury during the early hours of this Saturday.

On the one hand, Deputy Commissioner Lionel Maximiliano Gómez, who was then in charge of the 3rd police station in La Tablada, was found guilty as co-perpetrator of the crime of “sexual abuse with aggravated carnal access for being committed by an official of the police force repeated in five events”, together with the officer Silvina Eva Suárez.

In addition, for “severities” the agents Gómez, González, Reales, Silvia Viviana Solari and Lara de las Nieves Taramazzo were found guilty, while for “vejaciones” Hernán Federico Garzón, Johanna Elizabeth Romero and Yanina Ester Vargas. Meanwhile, sub-inspectors Javier Ramón González and Ángel Ariel Reales were considered “secondary participants”, and the jury also ruled that Javier Norberto Hinojosa is guilty of “concealment for personal favoring”.

After hearing the verdict, Judge Gerardo Gayol of the Oral Criminal Court (TOC) 4 of La Matanza went to an intermediate room for next week, when he will determine the corresponding sentences for each defendant.

Likewise, as reported by Télam, the judge of Guarantees 1 of La Matanza, Mari Castillo, assured that there were “situations of humiliation, abuse, discrimination and mistreatment, among other experiences that generated -to a greater or lesser extent- feelings of defenselessness, fear and anguish, being the cornerstone of such diagnosis, assimilable to the episodes narrated in records”.
