An armed assault carried out by motorcycles in a sandwich factory in Tolosa filled with terror the employees who were there at the time and allowed the criminals to seize and flee with the 70,000 pesos that were in the premises.

This episode of insecurity occurred on Monday night at the “Ricardo” store, which operates at 520 between 11 and 12 and has branches in other parts of the City.

It should be noted that this newspaper was in that business yesterday afternoon, where a man who was in charge of customer service excused himself from providing further details related to the robbery.

“There were other colleagues of ours and the only thing that those of us who work this shift know is that last night (on Monday) they came to steal,” he said.

DETONATION AND ROBBERY

However, EL DIA was able to find out through a qualified police source how the events were in that business.

In this regard, the spokesperson reported that the incident began “around 9:30 pm” on Monday.

At that time, it was indicated, “three criminals arrived aboard a 400-cylinder Honda Falcon Bordeaux motorcycle.”

The gang stopped their march on the sidewalk of the business they chose to rob.

Without wasting time, two of the group members got off the vehicle and walked resolutely towards the business.

It did not transpire whether or not there were customers inside the premises at that time.

But the truth is that at least one of the criminals quickly brought out a firearm and began to demand the delivery of the collection to the person in front of him.

In these circumstances, always based on what was stated by the informant, the man who was assigned to customer service “resisted”, a circumstance that infuriated the thief.

That is why, to soften up the victims, he decided to fire a bullet that, it was pointed out, ended up hitting the living room floor.

Fortunately, both those who were serving the public, and those who were in the back room preparing the sandwiches, were unharmed.

In any case, the situation became even more tense.

The event occurred at a time when, according to some residents of the neighborhood, “most of the businesses are closed and people have been in their homes for a long time.”

ARE THEY FROM THE AREA?

It is highly probable that those responsible for the assault on the “Ricardo” sandwich shop knew that they were going to act with practically deserted streets.

Hence, it would not have been by chance that they decided to launch a coup in that business, at a time when the absence of witnesses would help guarantee them the desired impunity.

At the same time, those in charge of carrying out the investigation to try to find the whereabouts of the gang, handle as one of the hypotheses that the criminals reside “not far” from the damaged business.

In any case, once the robbery was completed, a call to 911 informed the members of the Patrol Command about what had happened.

A few minutes later, a police delegation showed up at the sandwich shop to find out what the assault was like, the physical characteristics of the perpetrators and the clothing displayed.

Immediately, the uniformed officers reported the news on the police radio and a search was planned in the vicinity of that location. But until last night the assailants remained on the run.

At the sixth precinct, proceedings for “theft” were initiated, with the knowledge of UFI No. 9 of Ignored Authors of the La Plata Judicial Department.

One of the tasks of the investigations, it transpired, points to obtaining images from security cameras in the surroundings, in an attempt to identify the assailants.

Due to this case and due to the insecurity that affects the town, the Tolosa Neighborhood Assembly again demanded that “there be more patrolmen in the streets” and they fought for “a police station at 121 and 527”.
