They emphasize that the Government issues encouraging signals by not raising taxes

Senator Patrick Kemper (Let’s Do), head of the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Commission, analyzed the message from the Minister of Finance, Carlos Fernández Valdovinos, on the government’s economic policy and plans for the next five years, highlighting the reengineering of public spending, not raising taxes, macroeconomic stability, and the objective of economic growth close to 4%.

“Not raising taxes is essential if we want to give peace of mind to the private sector that invests and creates jobs in Paraguay, and it seems right to me that the government has publicly stated this line in its economic policy. We need a State allied to the private sector, We do not want a purely collecting State that wastes and squeezes the private sectorto put it in some way, to cover its deficiency,” said the Senator Patrick Kemper.

Likewise, the opposition politician highlighted the need to reengineer public spending and to make the processes in public purchases more transparent because we need an efficient State that responds to the needs of the people.

“Another essential aspect for achieve state efficiency that gives answers to the people has to do with improving public spending both in rigid spending and in the optimization and transparency of public purchases. The State must stop being an employment agency and a source of business to turn friends into millionaires. We need a modern and efficient State that knows how to spend, that knows how to save and that establishes the macroeconomic conditions to generate jobs and wealth,” he added.

The president of the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Commission of the Senate stated that lhe economic policy is essential for the country, for stability, for economic growthand that it is healthy and encouraging that the government has publicly presented, at the beginning of its mandate period, what its economic plans are for the country.

“Since my campaign I publicly assumed that I was against tax increases, that we need to improve public spending and that the State must be a strategic partner of the private sector, and from my bank I will support all projects that bring prosperity, that create jobs and improve the quality of life of Paraguayans. We need to highlight what is done well and denounce what is done badly. From this bench we are going to control that the government fulfills its promises and acts transparently ”, he concluded.
