Cove.- A dead officer, as well as three wounded police officers, was the result of a confrontation with criminals in Valle de Guadalupe, around midnight, the local Police reported.
The municipal agent José Solorio Torres died on the way to the hospital after the attack on a street in a residential area with dirt roads.
In the aftermath of the shooting, a K-9 agent named Boris survived the attack, but is in serious condition and is under observation by vets.
After the event, at least 15 schools suspended classes in Valle de Guadalupe: four preschools, six elementary schools, and five high schools.
The head of the local corporation, David Armando Sánchez González, reported that at approximately 00:05 this Friday, a vehicle was reported skidding through the emergency line in the Francisco Zarco delegation, in the heart of Valle de Guadalupe.
“Upon arriving at Calle K, from a house, detonations of what appeared to be a firearm began to be made against a unit of the Municipal Police,” said the report.
Meanwhile, the State Police reported that the attackers used a “cuerno de chivo” rifle, with which they made at least 15 detonations and entrenched themselves.
“Derived from this aggression, the agents requested support, arriving several units,” the report added.
“The elements are sheltered, they continue to shoot at them, they do not know where they are shooting from,” the State Police reported at the time the events occurred.
Four elements of the Municipal Police were injured in this confrontation, for which the presence of paramedics was requested, who determined that they would be transferred to a hospital for due medical attention.
On the way, aboard the ambulance, officer José Solorio was declared without vital signs.
Three more officers are receiving medical attention. They are reported as stable and will be kept under observation.
Sánchez González thanked the support of various corporations, such as the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), State Citizen Security Force (FESC) and National Guard (GN), State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), State Investigation Agency (AEI), which came and provided support to the municipal elements.

The Mayor of Ensenada, Armando Ayala Robles, indicated in a brief message that he offered his condolences to family, friends and colleagues, but also indicated that the attack will not go unpunished.
“We are in constant communication with the security and justice administration corporations of the three levels of government, as well as with the Armed Forces to reach the final consequences,” he added.
He highlighted the arrest of a person, identified as Guillerno “N”.
“We are keeping an eye on the health status of three elements that are treated in medical institutions, where they were reported out of danger,” he said.
