Hidalgo.- A tunnel used to steal hydrocarbons, the third of its kind found since last April in Hidalgo, was secured this Sunday by state authorities in the Municipality of Cuautepec.

The elements of Public Security, together with those of the State Attorney’s Office, found the 9-meter-deep and 28-meter-long tunnel, with an anti-landslide system, inside a rustic house located in Colonia Francisco I. Madero, on the limits of the entity with Puebla.

It was detected that the hose that was in the tunnel was coming out towards the earthen patio located on the same property and connecting with a Pemex pipeline that passes through the area.

“The ministerial staff made the discovery of a tunnel that led to a pipeline, where a high-pressure hose used for the illegal extraction of hydrocarbons was connected,” it was officially specified.

Synthetic drugs such as “crystal” and “stone” were also seized, as well as 200 grams of marijuana and 200 meters of high-pressure hose.

On May 4, another huachitunnel was detected in the town of Tecaxtelpec, located in Cuautepec itself, 2.3 kilometers away from the newly found tunnel.

The particularity is that in this tunnel, 25 meters long, dug 4 meters deep and with an electrical system that illuminated the interior and had two clandestine fuel outlets, it housed altars of satanic rituals and of Santa Muerte.

On the adjoining altars, the huachicoleros left offerings of meat, chili peppers, tortillas, beers and soft drinks to figures of Santa Muerte and Belcebú.

On March 16, it was in the Municipality of Tlaxcoapan, 15 kilometers from the Tula Refinery, that the first huachicolero tunnel was found, 165 meters long, built three meters deep, also with lighting and a protection system against landslides, from which it is presumed that 420,000 liters of hydrocarbon were extracted.
