Another surveillance video revealed that apparently the same thieves tried to rob another jewelry store that same Monday, also in Hialeah, although in that case they did not succeed. As reported Telemundo 51.

In the video you can see that the thieves are dressed and hooded in a similar way to the crane robbery and they also used the same strategy: They entered an adjacent business, in this case a travel agency to Cuba, and from there they tried to access the jewelry store.

However, they were less lucky than in the case of the hairdresser. The video released showed that after the alarms began to sound, they tried to destroy the security system with hammer blows, but they did not succeed easily, which is why they made the decision to leave.

Although so far the nationality of origin of the thieves has not been revealed, in the images from the travel agency one seems to be heard saying, under contract: “ping…”, when failing to deactivate the alarm system.

That failed robbery attempt occurred around 9:40 pm on Sunday, while the completed robbery at the second jewelry store took place between 1:00 am and 6:30 am on Monday morning. In that case, in the images released by the police, two suspects were seen taking a safe from the jewelry store. C4G Jewelerslocated in the Country Club Shopping Centerat 7580 Northwest 186th Street, in northwest Miami-Dade.

Oscar Segarra, owner of C4G Jewelersstated that the thieves made off with approximately one million dollars in jewelry and cash.

According to Miami-Dade police, the individuals used a steel cable and a hook from a stolen crane that was parked outside the premises.

Detectives presume that robbery It was a planned operation, since the criminals apparently circumvented the alarm system using a device, as previously indicated Local 10 News.

However, the owner of the stolen crane managed to activate the vehicle’s GPS, which was tracked to a warehouse in Hialeah Gardens.

In that place, the officers saw four people escape from the crane, but they managed to arrest two men, Michael Ávila de la Nuez, 49, who is hospitalized, and Ariel Hernández.
