Saint John, April 13. The Puerto Rico Police reported this Thursday that it is investigating a complaint by the director of a hospital in the north of the island about a 22-year-old woman who dispensed with her five-day-old baby.
According to the Police, agents of the Division of Sexual Crimes and Child Abuse of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Bayamón, received a complaint on Wednesday about a woman who “gave birth to a baby 5 days ago, left Puerto Rico , leaving her in the hospital institution”.
The agents were informed by José Talavera Reyes, director of the hospital, who indicated that the woman stated that she was going to abandon medical treatment and that she signed a waiver of responsibility, leaving the island on Wednesday, leaving the newborn in the custody of the hospital.
Agent Bryan Ramos, attached to the District of Vega Baja, preliminarily addressed this complaint, which was referred to the staff of the Department of the Family and the Division of Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse of the CIC of Bayamón, as part of the protocol of the investigation. EFE
