In an operation carried out after a shooting and the kidnapping of two police officers in Córdoba, Veracruz, a subject was intercepted who, to try to flee, threatened to explode a grenade. Finally, he was shot down.

This Tuesday morning there was a shooting in the streets of this Municipality, where two policemen, a man and a woman, were kidnapped in the Federal Colony.

Later, the officer was found lifeless in a vehicle, so the search for the policewoman continues.

Authorities activated the Red Code, an operation in which elements from the three levels of government participated to find those responsible.

In patrols, they located on Córdoba-Fortín boulevard, at the height of San Nicolás, a subject with a turquoise-green sweatshirt who, when intercepted, took out a grenade that threatened to explode if the uniformed officers did not move away.

“Drop it, throw it!” the officers yelled insistently as the suspect counted to intimidate them.

The event was so surprising that there were still citizens in the area who were evicted by the police.

They shouted for him to turn himself in, while he continued to advance on his knees to try to flee from justice.

On one occasion, elements of the state police managed to kill him without the offender fulfilling his threat to detonate the fragmentation grenade.

The corpse was lifted and taken to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) to be recognized. Although his identity has not yet been revealed, it was indicated that he would be around 30 years of age.

The grenade was lifted and guarded to prevent it from exploring.

Businesses closed, services were suspended, neighbors took refuge in their homes and schools announced that there will be no classes this Wednesday.
