The director of Social Prosperity, Cielo Rusinque, reported that a new stage of registrations for the national program of “Transit to Citizen Income” for those Colombian families in a state of vulnerability or categorized according to the Sisbén IV survey They have not been able to register.
Rusinque specified that this new registration day will go approximately until June 2023, In order for the program to cover a total of 3.3 million households.

On the other hand, the director of Social Prosperity referred to the new dimension of policies against hunger and poverty that installs the “Government of Change” to mitigate the problem, and that are the axis of the “Transit to Citizen Income” program.
“This government understands that with an economic transfer the situation of poverty and vulnerability is not completely overcome. For this reason, the approach that we are applying in Transit to Citizen Income is to guarantee fundamental rights for the beneficiaries”, explained Rusinque.
As mentioned by the director of Social Prosperity, the families that will be able to access the program benefits they will be those that are part of the Identification System of Potential Social Beneficiaries, Sisbén.
“Also with a prioritization criterion, with an ethnic approach, we are prioritizing the victims of forced displacement; to the indigenous populations, who are the ones who will be guaranteed the greatest resource, obviously prior to fulfilling their joint responsibilities in the area of education and health,” Rusinque specified.
Although for the moment this is the only requirement, Rusinque indicated that the objective is to focus and optimize resources, therefore, “households that are in extreme poverty they will receive the 500 thousand weights (Group A). But already looking at Group B, we are going to look at the co-responsibilities that already exist and this is going to be measured by the number of children per household”.

The national entity highlighted that with this agreement the beneficiaries will have a network of 10,153 banking correspondents, which will allow access in 1,064 municipalities. Likewise, Banco Agrario has 816 ATMs installed in the branch network and 1,352 ATMs from allied networks.
“With this model, it will guarantee the delivery of resources in rural and dispersed rural areas,” said Prosperidad Social.
