veracruz.- The body of lawyer Luis Emilio Fuster Montiel was located at noon this Friday in Medellín, Veracruz, after being kidnapped on February 15, when a hearing was held in Cosamaloapan.

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed that the body was found at a point known as Los Caños de San Antonio, on the road that connects Medellín with Rancho del Padre, about 25 kilometers from the port of Veracruz.

“This afternoon, at the point known as Los Caños de San Antonio, on the Medellín-Rancho del Padre highway, the lifeless body of Luis Emilio Fuster Montiel, who was deprived of his liberty in previous days,” the statement said.

The deprivation of liberty led to security operations that yesterday left a ministerial policeman dead, identified as Farets González Grajeda, and another wounded, as well as three detainees.

The security devices were carried out in the town of Paso del Toro, where elements of the FGE were shot at by criminals.

On the morning of this Friday, February 17, another shooting was reported in the same area, which generated a strong police mobilization on the Paso del Toro-Alvarado highway, in the section known as El Doce.

Here another person related to the events was arrested, for which 4 apprehensions were added.

A moment later, at a press conference, Governor Cuitláhuac García Jiménez confirmed that these mobilizations were part of the search for Fuster Montiel after the detection of a gang operating in the area.

“In effect, what we say accelerated the operation, and to find this gang, it was this deprivation of liberty. That is why it was already known who was behind it. When they found them, they resisted with high-powered weapons. The operation was successful in the sense that it did not affect the population,” said the president from Xalapa, the capital.

The President explained that since November 2022 he identified himself in the Medellín area, four kilometers from the port of Veracruz, various acts of violence related to vehicle thefts, homicides and deprivations of liberty were committed.

According to Cuitláhuac García, it had been detected that various acts of violence related to vehicle theft, homicides and deprivation of liberty had occurred in the area since November 2022.

Together with the Prosecutor, Verónica Hernández Giadáns, he lamented the death of the ministerial element that participated in the operation.
