Juarez City.- Through a sale of hamburgers, 16 servers from the San Judas Tadeo parish supported the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer and Leukemia (Apanical) to raise funds for the 15 patients receiving their treatments and chemotherapy.
“We are making a hamburger to raise funds for chemotherapies for children suffering from cancer and leukemia who are in Apanical,” said Luz del Carmen Don Lucas, Eucharist minister at the church.
From 9:00 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon, the servers met to carry out the activity in the church, whose objective was to sell 300 hamburgers at a cost of 100 pesos, which included fries and soft drinks.
The server explained that from very early they received the support of the community, and by 12:00 noon they had already sold around 200 combos.
“The goal is to sell 300 hamburgers, but I think there will be more because we will be here until 3:00,” said the interviewee about the response they received.
He explained that they have supported the association on previous occasions, since they know the work they do to help minors overcome cancer or leukemia, offering them treatments and chemotherapy at no cost.
“It is very nice that we are all supporting these children who are suffering so much and, above all, the interest is that they do not lack the essentials, and first of all God that they get well soon; We have organized breakfasts, meals, and this time it occurred to us to organize a hamburger, we are all very happy to support”, said Don Lucas.
There are 15 minors and young people between the ages of 4 and 19 who are part of Apanical and who daily need the support of the community to pay for their treatments and chemotherapy, whose estimated cost is between 10,000 and 90,000 per patient, reported Eleonora Negrete, director of the association.
